Who We Are

Michael and Karen Vincent have served the Lord Jesus Christ since their radical conversion from addiction in 2002. In 2008, Michael became an ordained reverend and together they founded Outstretched Hands Ministries Inc. They have ministered to the poor and broken sharing the hope of the gospel in addiction programs, weekly jail ministry, feeding the hungry and hospital visitations in North Georgia and many short-term mission trips to the slums and prisons in Africa.

In the summer of 2015, they moved to Honduras as full-time missionaries. They didn’t have a clear calling except to “go” and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

In December of 2016, God placed in their hearts to open a home for vulnerable children. Their prayer was for God to open the doors He wanted opened and to close the doors He wanted closed and give them the wisdom to know the difference. Three days later, three little girls crossed their path who were in desperate need of love and a stable home. As their relationship grew the girls began to call Michael and Karen, “Tito,” and “Lita.” — short for Abuelito and Abuelita meaning “dear grandfather” and “dear grandmother” in Spanish.

As they shared the vision, it was obvious that others could see God’s hand was in it. As they began to care for the girls, Michael and Karen found out the girls had been sexually abused and trafficked. After reporting the crimes against the girls and speaking to the authorities it was evident how widespread this problem is in Honduras. The need to become a specialized home for girls who have suffered from sexual abuse was clear because they were told there are no homes for this specific problem for girls as young as 4 years of age. The ministry was registered with the Honduran government and developed a program specifically for girls who have experienced this horrific trauma.

Every child deserves a loving, stable and secure home to grow up and thrive in. This is where up to 24 girls will find themselves as they come to live at “Casa de Abby” (Abby’s House). In the Hebrew language the name Abigail means, “my Father’s joy.” These special little ones are truly His joy and are loved by Him. Our desire is they will come to have faith and trust in God the Father, and they will receive healing in their hearts from the wounds they have experienced in the past, so that they can grow into who He desires them to be.
